1. Service description
CareerMetrics is a career exploration tool that visualises UK salary data and career progression trajectories. We use publicly available data from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) to provide salary insights across occupations.
The service is provided in free and premium tiers. Premium features require registration with a valid email address.
2. Data accuracy and disclaimer
Salary data displayed on CareerMetrics is sourced from ONS and is used as-is. While we endeavour to present accurate and up-to-date information:
- Salary projections and career path trajectories are estimates based on statistical models, not guarantees of future earnings.
- Career path visualisations are illustrative and should not be treated as financial, career, or employment advice.
- Individual salaries vary based on location, employer, experience, qualifications, and many other factors not captured in aggregate data.
3. What we are not
CareerMetrics is not a recruitment agency, career advisory service, or financial advisor. We do not provide personalised career advice or job placement services. Any decisions you make based on our data are your own responsibility.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Scrape, crawl, or systematically extract data from CareerMetrics.
- Commercially redistribute data presented on the platform.
- Use the service for any unlawful purpose.
- Attempt to interfere with or disrupt the service.
- Misrepresent your identity or impersonate others.
5. Intellectual property
The design, code, branding, and presentation of CareerMetrics are our intellectual property and are protected by copyright. You may not reproduce or redistribute them without permission.
The underlying salary data is Crown Copyright, sourced from the ONS, and used under the Open Government Licence v3.0. You are free to use ONS data independently under the terms of that licence.
6. Premium access
Premium features are currently accessed via email-based registration. We reserve the right to modify the features included in free and premium tiers at any time. We will provide reasonable notice of significant changes.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- CareerMetrics is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
- We are not liable for any career, financial, or employment decisions made based on data or projections shown on our platform.
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.
- Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you have paid us (if any) in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
8. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to CareerMetrics at our discretion if we believe you have violated these terms or are misusing the service. You may stop using the service at any time.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
